Black Wall Street 2021 Campaign

Welcome to the Restore Black Wall Street 2021 Campaign website! The Historic Greenwood Chamber of Commerce has a 94-year heritage of successfully supporting and promoting business opportunities for our members, while providing a significant emphasis on education and preserving the remaining buildings of historic Black Wall Street. Our landmark 100th-year commemoration of Black Wall Street 1921 reminds us of the importance of building and sustaining strong collaborations and partnerships.

Considering the state of our nation, there is not a better time to restore Black Wall Street. It is not only needed but a necessity to black-owned businesses to unite and preserve our history. With that in mind, we are asking for your help. If you are able, please donate to the campaign, become a partner, share a post on social media, and attend an event.

"It is an honor to have been asked to serve as the national chairperson to help rebuild the original Black Wall Street. There is no greater need than to promote and to preserve this historical site so that we can in this era promote its accomplishments and prevent its repeat.”

Rev. Horace L. Sheffield, National Chair, Restore Black Wall Street 2021 Campaign

“In this era of efforts toward genuine racial reconciliation there also needs to be some way to rectify such a glaring historical wrong as the bombing of the Greenwood Business District, commonly known as “Black Wall Street”. What happened at Black Wall must be preserved so its history will never be kept silent. So, I am honored to serve as the Honorary National Chair of this effort to preserve and restore Black Wall Street.”

Rev. Al Sharpton, National Honorary Co-Chair, Restore Black Wall Street Campaign

“I am humbled and proud to join in partnership with The Greenwood Chamber of Commerce as Honorary Co-Chair of the re-development of The Greenwood Historic District and The Black Wall Street. The legacy of the Greenwood District, The Black Wall Street and the atrocities of the 1921 Tulsa Massacre deserves a permanent and venerable place in the annals of American history. It is an honor to have the opportunity to support, serve and partner with the legacy families of Greenwood that persevere and still thrive despite the deadliest state-supported domestic terror attack in our nation's history.”

- Hill Harper, Actor and Bestselling Author, National Honorary Co-Chair Restore Black Wall Street Campaign

“In this historic moment of reckoning, let us remember those monumental events of barbarity that shape who and what we are. The Tulsa massacre of 1921 was an American crime against humanity. Let us come together as black and white human beings to rectify it!”

-Dr. Cornel West
